Boris is back at the helm

Boris is back at work in 10 Downing Street after being felled by the virus. I’m not what difference that will make to the general public. Will operations continue as they were or will we see sweeping changes in the Government’s response to the pandemic? Only time will really tell. As you would expect, the virus and its effects continue to dominate the broadcast news cycles.

Boris' Home - Downing Street

People seem to continue being optimistic, which is a good thing. I have noticed more people are wearing masks out in public. I’ve not yet resorted to that. I avoid touching my face unless I have washed my hand immediately prior, plus I’m now carrying a small bottle of hand sanitiser in my every day carry (EDC) kit. Keeping a 2 metre distance between each other seems to have become habit now.

There are still rumblings about the lack of a published plan about how the country will return to normal. I’ve heard people saying lockdown for another three weeks. I suspect that it will be more like another three months at least. No doubt Boris will let the country know in due course, but I do think many people are being over-optimistic and setting themselves up for disappointment and despair.

Hopefully, the pleasant weather will continue and give people an uplift in morale. Yesterday I noticed a lot of people going for walks and the increase in bike activity around my area has been exponential. Who knows, perhaps the country will see an upturn in health due to the extra exercise people are taking just to get out of their homes. Like so many other things in these crazy days we’re just going to have to wait and see.
